God Will Provide

June 20, 2013

Over and over again on this journey, God has provided for our team in so many ways.

At the beginning of the walk, we feared we would only have two guys, and then we were blessed with Albert who was able to walk with us until Carlos was able to join us. God provides.

When we arrived in Parker, Arizona, we discovered the parish we thought we were going to was another hour away and driving there would mean missing Mass. We immediately stumbled upon Sacred Heart Parish (The Sacred Heart is our team’s personal favorite, following us on this trip), right before Mass began. And then the priest offered to feed and house us for the night. It was perfect. God provides.

In Show Low, Arizona, our team began to pray for a chance to have a hot breakfast, and then the parishioners took us to Element Cafe and Bistro. It was the most delicious breakfast ever. God provides.

Numerous host families have allowed us to stay extra nights due to things like RV repairs and changes in plans.God provides.

We almost had to make plans to stay another night somewhere without the RV, but then the RV repairs got done that day against all odds so we could drive farther down the road. God provides.

God also spared us from the aliens in Roswell, NM, just as Psalms 144:7-8 says “Stretch forth thy hand from on high, rescue me and deliver me from the many waters, from the hands of aliens, whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.” (We’re totally kidding by the way). God provides.

Today, as we were about to make lunches for our team, we began to fear we might be out of bread. As we started opening cabinets, we began to find that we had a plethora of bread, more than we even needed. Multiplication of the loaves in our RV. God provides.

As you can imagine the RV gets pretty crazy and things tend to get lost quite a bit. But St. Anthony has helped us to find scapulars, skirts, socks, pants, shoes, rosaries, keys, phones, and even people. God provides.

Everyone on our team is always doing whatever needs to be done, whether that be dishes, cooking, cleaning, stuffing flyers, or writing thank yous. Our team is full of hard working people that are striving to do everything in charity. God put an amazing team together. God provides.
